Last year turnover of the producer of Kaija canned fish LTD Karavela reached 14.41 million lats, which is by 36% more than in 2011, when the company`s turnover amounted to 10.59 million lats.
Profit grew by more than two times – from 176 thousand lats in 2011 up to 353 thousand lats in 2012.
Last year the increase of the company`s turnover and profit was ensured by growth of demand to Kaija products by more than 30% on all traditional markets – in Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Last year the company started to gain Scandinavian markets, and this year it has direct contracts with biggest Scandinavian supermarket chains.
The company plans that this year its turnover will continue to grow substantially, at least up to 18 million lats, which will be ensured both by increase of export on traditional markets, and by export of products from the new production union opened in spring to Scandinavian countries. The results of first six months exceed the initial estimates – the turnover has exceeded 9 million lats.
